Sophia Laurenzi

Meet Sophia

Journalist. Essayist. Rising literary voice.

Sophia Laurenzi writes with urgency, precision, and depth—bridging the personal and political in stories that matter. A 2024 Ploughshares Emerging Writer’s Finalist, her award-winning work has appeared in TIME, The Washington Post, Slate, WIRED, and more, marking her as one of the most exciting new voices in public writing today.

Before turning her focus to journalism and literature, Sophia worked as an investigator on death penalty cases in Tennessee and Louisiana—a background that deeply informs the empathy and moral clarity of her prose. She grew up in New Jersey, studied at Stanford University, and now lives in Brooklyn, where she is at work on her debut book.

What We’re Working On

Sophia partnered with Punctuation PR to support the next chapter of her public-facing writing career as she prepares for the submission of her first book and expands her platform across media.

Together, we’re focused on:

  • Author Platform Development: Building a strong, sustainable online presence tailored to literary audiences and media editors.

  • Substack Strategy: Launching a newsletter that invites readers into Sophia’s research process, voice, and worldview—bridging her essays, journalism, and forthcoming book.

  • Pitch Consulting & Publication Strategy: Supporting submissions to high-prestige outlets by refining pitches and targeting the right editorial homes for her work.

  • Pre-Publication Audience Building: Creating long-term engagement strategies to grow anticipation ahead of her debut release.

  • Brand Positioning: Defining Sophia’s public narrative and digital identity as a next-generation public intellectual.

At Punctuation PR, we’re helping Sophia build not just visibility—but longevity. Because her voice isn’t just timely—it’s timeless.
