Open Access Publishing in the Humanities Symposium

Friday, Feb 6, 2026 9am - 12:15pm PST
Levinthal Hall, Stanford Humanities Center, 424 Santa Teresa Street

The Stanford Humanities Center and Stanford University Libraries invite members of the Stanford community who are involved or interested in humanities research and/or open access publishing to join us for a half-day symposium.

Speakers from the Stanford community, including Alan Harvey (Stanford University Press) and John Willinsky (Stanford Graduate School of Education, Public Knowledge Project), will provide an array of perspectives on open access publishing through discussion of open access’s impact on publishers, libraries, and humanities authors, from early career researchers to senior scholars. In addition to presentations on open access publishing, Ellen Yang of Punctuation PR will speak on publicity, marketing, and open access engagement for Stanford's humanities researchers.
